Queen City Sound Chorus Leadership Queen City Sound Chorus thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to lead. Here are a few of the people that make our ensemble so successful: Pat Vozza - Director Pat is our musical director, inspiration, and the creative force behind our success. Having her direct us weekly is like having a resident coach, helping us learn and improve constantly. ![]()
Becky Moore - Team Leader Becky is the organizer who keeps us all on track, and she inspires us with her endless energy, enthusiasm and good humor!
Donna Henderson, Assistant Director Queen City Sound is grateful to have Donna as our assistant director and Lead section leader. A singer her whole life and a long-time member of SAI, Donna has competed and has won awards with quartets and choruses in both regional and international competitions. Having held every office and with years of teaching music under her belt, Donna brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our chorus.
Susan Perotka Susan is our Tenor section leader. The Tenor part, named, as are all four parts, to match the men's barbershop part names, is the high, light harmony. It often reinforces the natural overtones produced when our voices combine, resonate and reinforce one another, making our chords ring.
Charity Huechteman Charity, our Baritone section leader, has a wonderful feel for this part, which is essential to the barbershop style. It is sung in the middle range, like the Lead, often going above the Lead when the melody goes down, and below when it goes up - wherever is needed to complete the barbershop chord . Rosemary Pillar Rosemary has many years of Sweet Adelines experience and is our fabulous Bass section leader. The Bass part is sung in the resonant low range, and forms the rich, full foundation of our 4-part chords. |
